Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:    Press Loader assists with the transporting and handling of parts between operations and departments.  Ensures that stock is continually ready to run on presses. Furnace Loader is in constant communication with Press and Production leadership, Inspection, Press Operators and other Press personnel. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Checks with etch department to determine which parts are finished and ready to move to heat treat or be cut.
  • Checks the ovens, charts and status of work in-progess and keeps the job moving to the next operation appropriately.
  • Take copies of travelers to production to inform them of status of job for planning.
  • Refer to daily schedule to determine priority of jobs to move into press ovens.
  • Check travelers to ensure the right oven temperature is being used.
  • Load ovens after confirming that the alloy and code for the job and traveler match.  (Alert Press Lead if it does not match).
  • Continually remove parts from press tables, place in baskets and move to etch.
  • Using a forklift, transport parts between operations.
  • Load and unload parts into cart or etching basket.
  • Maintain traceability when handling parts.
  • Keep accurate part-counts.
  • Assure quality and production requirements are met.
  • Participate in total quality management projects to achieve continuous improvement.
  • Participate in LEAN manufacturing, 6S and SPC activities as required.
  • Perform any other duties not mentioned above when instructed to do so by a supervisor.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Ensure adherence to APP’s policies and procedures, including our code of conduct and ethics policy, product safety, employee safety and cultural beliefs.
  • Ensure adherence to all process specifications.
  • Support the Plant quality system goals / improvements & productivity goals / improvements within the scope of the job.
SHIFT: M-TH 3:30PM-2AM Friday-Saturday 1:30PM-10PM

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to:

  • Walk continuously throughout his/her shift.
  • Frequently lift, carry and manipulate parts weighing up to 60 lbs.
  • Push/Pull rolling carts requiring up to 60 lbs of force to start movement.
  • Frequently reach, twist and/or bend while loading/ unloading parts from etch cart.
  • Must be able to work around high heat and flames
 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work environment is indoor/outdoor in an industrial manufacturing plant.
  • Temperature in work areas can exceed 100? F throughout work year.
  • Sharp aluminum is unavoidable in this job position.  Adequate protective gear is required at all times to avoid injury.
  • Moderate-to-high noise from machinery in work area is constant throughout shift.
  • Hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, safety belt, mask, gloves, cotton clothing and hearing protection is required at all times in the Press department.
This is a full time opportunity. 5 days a week. 8+ hours per day 

The ideal candidate will have: 

  • Experience working in Manufacturing/Aerospace environment
Schedule: Monday thru Thursday 3:30PM to 2AM

Friday 1:30PM to 10:00PM

Saturday optional overtime

Pay Rate: $20 per hour

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
