Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. This role involves assessing, planning, and delivering specialized speech and language support to students, aiming to enhance their communication abilities and academic performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluation and Goal Setting:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students speech and language skills.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and set achievable therapy goals based on assessments.

Therapeutic Intervention:

  • Deliver speech and language therapy tailored to address articulation, language, and communication needs.
  • Design and execute therapeutic activities that promote students educational and social growth.

Collaboration and Support:

  • Work with teachers, special education staff, and families to incorporate speech and language strategies into everyday activities.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing recommendations for effective communication support.

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate records of progress, treatment plans, and session notes.
  • Prepare reports for IEP meetings and ensure compliance with school and state regulations.

Professional Development:

  • Stay informed about best practices in speech-language therapy and educational interventions.
  • Engage in professional development to continually improve service quality.
Qualifications:
  • Education:Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure:Active Speech-Language Pathologist license in New York.
  • Certification:ASHAs Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred.
  • Experience:Experience in a school setting or with children, ideally involving IEP development.
  • Skills:Strong knowledge of speech therapy techniques, teamwork, and communication skills.
