Social Services Specialist
Annual Salary:
- Level I H20A: $36,811.95 + Full State Employee Benefits
- Level II H20B: $39,571.76 + Full State Employee Benefits
Travel is Extensive. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Social Services Specialist I
- A Bachelor's Degree
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of experience in professional social work for each year of the required education.
Social Services Specialist II
- A Master's degree;
- OR a Bachelor's degree and one year of experience in professional social work;
- OR an equivalent combination of education and social work, substituting one year of professional social work for each year of the required education.
This position provides social services to clients in assessing needs and determining eligibility for specific programs and services; along managing a case load requiring both broad and specialized knowledge of all social service programs including maintain contractual compliance of OKDHS approved specialized foster homes.
Contact outside public and private health and welfare agencies and community resources to assist in obtaining aid for clients and their families.
Job Responsibilities
- Works as the Developmental Disabilities Services (DDS) residential worker for Specialized Foster Care and Agency Companion homes which includes travel and managing a caseload.
- Oversees the Specialized Foster Care (SFC) and Adult Companion (AC) homes compliance and care for individuals with Intellectual Disabilities.
- Assists DDS State Payee in requests to spend funds for individuals with Intellectual Disabilities.
- Works to develop new SFC and AC homes which may include recruitment efforts.
- Works as a team with DDS members and Child Welfare Staff
- Attends some in person meetings.
