Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist to join our school-based team. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of expertise and compassion to provide targeted speech and language therapy for students, helping to enhance their communication skills and educational experiences. This role involves collaboration with educational teams to develop and implement individualized strategies that support student development.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct thorough evaluations of students' speech and language competencies to identify specific areas of need. Develop customized Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that outline therapy objectives based on each students unique requirements.
  • Therapeutic Intervention: Deliver evidence-based speech and language therapy tailored to improve articulation, language comprehension, and communication effectiveness. Design engaging activities to support students progress in both educational and social settings.
  • Collaboration: Work in partnership with teachers, special educators, and families to integrate speech and language interventions into the classroom and everyday activities. Actively contribute to IEP meetings by providing insights and expert recommendations for communication strategies.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of therapy sessions, student progress, and treatment plans. Ensure that all documentation complies with school district guidelines and legal requirements, preparing detailed progress reports for IEP reviews and other evaluations.
  • Professional Growth: Stay updated on current trends in speech-language pathology and advances in special education. Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to continuously refine your skills and expand your knowledge.
Required Qualifications
  • Educational Background: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: State-issued license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist is required.
  • Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience working in a school setting or with children who have diverse communication needs is highly desirable. Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs is an advantage.
  • Skill Set: Extensive knowledge of speech-language therapy principles and best practices, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary environment. Effective organizational skills are essential.
