Job Title: Medical Device Assembler, Operations - Shift 3
Pay rate: 18.50 /hr.
Shift Timing: 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM
Location: DUBLIN, OH

Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Production Assembly Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling components, performing basic product assembly tasks, conducting quality inspections, and ensuring compliance with manufacturing and regulatory standards. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assembly & Production:
    • Assemble various components and products, including preparation, actual assembly, testing, recording test results, and packaging.
    • Perform tasks such as soldering, crimping, bonding, sealing, and mechanical assembly.
    • Utilize documentation like Bills of Material, work orders, production reports, and assembly drawings to guide the assembly process and ensure accuracy.
  • Quality Control:
    • Inspect work throughout the assembly process, identifying and addressing any quality issues.
    • Communicate operational and quality issues to team leaders and appropriate departments.
    • Assist in the correction of procedures to ensure consistency in product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Participate in safety programs, meetings, and training sessions as required.
    • Ensure a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
    • Follow all safety protocols, reporting concerns to management and ensuring awareness of safety hazards.
    • Adhere to company policies and regulatory standards (FDA, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, etc.).
    • Understand and implement environmental conservation practices, including proper equipment shutdowns and recycling.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain and update documentation, including labor sheets, check sheets, production sheets, and work orders.
    • Ensure that all records are completed accurately and on time to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
    • Perform line clearance and manage component requisitions and returns at the end of production runs.
  • Team Collaboration & Communication:
    • Work with team members to ensure the smooth operation of production lines.
    • Maintain professional relationships with all levels of staff, and work collaboratively to meet production goals.
    • Engage with leaders, including supervisors, group leads, process technicians, maintenance, and tooling teams, when necessary.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Promote and participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives.
    • Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Three or more months of manufacturing or production experience preferred.
    • Familiarity with medical device regulatory procedures, lean manufacturing, and production processes is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Basic computer proficiency for documentation and operating equipment (e.g., auto-baggers).
    • Ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) with a calculator or computer.
    • Ability to distinguish colors and demonstrate good hand-eye coordination.
    • Detail-oriented with the ability to follow detailed work instructions and specifications.
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in manufacturing or a related field is a plus.
  • Abilities:
    • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
    • Ability to work in a team environment and maintain professional composure at all times.

  • Attention to safety hazards and proper assembly techniques is critical to maintaining safe working conditions and ensuring high-quality products.
  • Adherence to good manufacturing practices and timely documentation is essential to avoiding customer complaints, regulatory concerns, and delays in order fulfillment.

Key Relationships:

  • Collaboration with internal teams, including supervisors, group leads, process technicians, and other production staff.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all levels of employees and management.
  • Ensure compliance with external regulatory bodies and industry standards.

Environmental & Safety Considerations:

  • Follow all safety protocols and actively contribute to workplace safety.
  • Ensure environmental sustainability through energy conservation and proper waste management practices.
