Registered Nurse Pain Management

St. Luke's Hospital is committed to providing exceptional patient care and a positive work environment. We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Pain Management team.
Job Summary:The Registered Nurse Pain Management performs a variety of medical assisting functions, including assessing and recording patient pain levels, vital signs, height, and weight. The successful candidate will assist with pain management treatments, prepare equipment for physicians, and admit and discharge patients from the facility.
Key Responsibilities:- Actively participates in maintaining and/or improving quality improvement initiatives regarding Physician Billing computer system and patient satisfaction survey
- Maintain high level of competence on Physician Billing computer system
- Takes active role in facilitation team approach to functions within the department, including attending department meetings and actively participating as a team member in resolving problems
- Assists in filing charts and retrieving charts in preparation for next day
- Assists in filing lab reports, etc
- Admits and discharges patients from facility
- Keeps exam rooms supplied and in order, orders medical supplies in a timely fashion
- Disposes of bio-hazardous waste and regular waste
- Checks patient's pain level, height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature
- Ascertains patient's chief complaints and describes same in chart accurately and succinctly
The successful candidate will require sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours at a time). Continual use of fingers for patient care, writing, and handling patient charts is also required. The candidate must be able to transport patients (up to 325 lbs.) via wheelchair, bed, and/or stretcher.
Education and Experience:A Registered Nurse with current licensure is required. Two years of office experience in a similar setting is preferred. Current CPR certification is also required.
