POSITION OVERVIEW

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) serves as a skilled healthcare professional specializing in the assessment and management of patient health. This role involves collaboration with fellow APPs, management, and clinical staff to promote nursing excellence and foster a professional practice environment grounded in evidence-based care. The APP operates under established protocols in conjunction with supervising physicians, focusing on improving clinical outcomes and enhancing care delivery systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

·Communication with Staff: The APP is expected to establish effective communication channels with medical and administrative personnel to ensure clarity regarding operational requirements, adhering to protocols established with supervising physicians.

·Ethical Standards: The APP is tasked with identifying and addressing challenges in partnership with assigned physicians and clinical staff.

·Strategic Development: Collaborating with senior leadership, the APP contributes to the formulation of strategic objectives and evaluates progress annually.

·Quality Improvement: The APP is responsible for engaging in performance evaluation initiatives to enhance the quality of care.

·Recruitment: The APP plays a role in attracting and selecting qualified APPs and healthcare professionals.

·Compliance: The APP ensures that medical services align with managed care agreements and insurance contracts.

·Legal Support: The APP assists in preparing for and addressing legal matters involving the healthcare group.

·Clinical Leadership: The APP leads patient care initiatives, ensuring high standards of clinical practice and operational efficiency.

·Philosophy of Care: The APP exemplifies the organization’s commitment to patient-centered care through professional conduct.

·Performance Oversight: The APP ensures that clinical services meet accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.

Support for Clinical Operations

The APP is involved in:

a) Promoting efficient clinical operations.

b) Supervising support staff to enhance practice efficiency.

c) Designing and implementing clinical programs that optimize patient care.

d) Overseeing medical services to ensure quality and appropriateness.

e) Participating in staffing initiatives to maintain effective clinical operations.

f) Engaging in committees as needed.

g) Upholding patient rights and providing direct care when necessary.

h) Acting as a liaison to ensure important medical information is communicated effectively.

·Problem Resolution: The APP addresses immediate clinical issues impacting patient care.

·Policy Development: The APP contributes to the creation of policies and programs aimed at enhancing staff knowledge and skills.

·Community Representation: The APP represents the organization through public engagements and educational activities.

·Long-term Strategy: The APP actively participates in strategic planning to ensure future success.

·Marketing Initiatives: The APP aids in developing marketing strategies to promote healthcare services and community health education.

Managed Care Responsibilities

The APP is involved in:

a) Enhancing awareness and collaboration within a managed care framework.

b) Participating in managed care negotiations as needed.

c) Assisting in responding to appeals and communications with payers.

d) Staying informed about developments in care management.

e) Carrying out all necessary duties to meet organizational goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

· A Master's Degree in Nursing or a related field from an accredited institution, with completion of an advanced practice or nurse practitioner program.

· Relevant clinical experience with strong teaching abilities and a capacity for facilitating organizational change.

· Board Certification in the specialty area is required; board-eligible candidates must commit to obtaining certification within six months of employment.

· Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Provider in the State of Florida.

· Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within three months of hire.

· Completion of annual competencies as mandated by the organization.

· Maintenance of professional licensing and continuing education requirements.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
