Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automotive Equipment Mechanic to join our team at the South Florida Reception Center. As a key member of our Fleet Team, you will be responsible for performing complex auto repairs and maintenance, instructing and supervising inmates, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles, including diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, and brakes.
  • Instruct and supervise inmates in the highly complex skills of auto repair and maintenance.
  • Plan, organize, and schedule work to be performed, ordering necessary parts and supplies as needed.
  • Ensure that vehicles receive scheduled preventative maintenance and that maintenance usage, cost, and expenditures are accurately recorded and tracked.
  • Supervise inmate work forces as it relates to the Fleet program.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in automotive repair and maintenance.
  • Commercial Driver License (CDL) required.
