ROLE SUMMARY

This position for a Nuclear Operations Training Specialist can be filled at either the Mid-level or Senior level. Please refer to the qualifications outlined below for each level.

Mid-level Nuclear Operations Training Specialist: $105,000 - $113,000 per year

Senior-level Nuclear Operations Training Specialist: $130,000 - $140,000 per year

Compensation ranges are based on experience and include a comprehensive benefits package.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The primary responsibility of this role is to demonstrate expertise in skills and in-depth subject matter knowledge while executing tasks related to the analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, and proposed enhancement of plant-specific nuclear licensed Operations training programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Enhances station and personnel performance through effective training initiatives. Coordinates and conducts performance-based licensed or non-licensed training programs as required by the user community, adhering to departmental procedures and the Exelon TSD model.
  • Ensures that training programs are up-to-date and incorporate insights from INPO Significant Operating Experience Reports, Exelon NERs, NRC Circulars, Bulletins, and Information Notices, as well as changes in plant design, procedures, regulations, and training effectiveness reports.
  • Develops trainee assessments and conducts evaluations across classroom, laboratory, on-the-job training, and simulator environments, providing counseling sessions and recommending tailored training programs based on evaluation results.
  • Supports business initiatives, project management, refueling outages, emergency preparedness duties, and special projects across the station and fleet.
  • Participates in audits conducted by NRC, INPO, and management, preparing responses to any findings.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of plant operations and relevant skills to ensure the delivery of high-quality training.
  • Oversees the collection and maintenance of auditable training records and reports necessary to document training program activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Mid-level Nuclear Operations Training Specialist:

  • Associate's degree in science/engineering or education/training with 4+ years of relevant industry experience or technical background.
  • Alternatively, 6+ years of related industry experience or technical background.

Senior-level Nuclear Operations Training Specialist:

  • Current or previous senior reactor operator license.
  • OR
  • Previous reactor operator experience with 4+ years of related industry experience (must achieve SRO certification within 18 months).
  • OR
  • SRO Certification with 4+ years of related industry experience and 6 months of proven teaching experience in LORT or ILT.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Mid-level Nuclear Operations Training Specialist:

  • Bachelor's degree in science/engineering or education/training.
  • 6 years of commercial nuclear power plant training experience.

Senior-level Nuclear Operations Training Specialist:

  • Bachelor's degree in science/engineering or education/training.
  • Current or previous senior reactor operator license or SRO Certification with 6+ years of related industry experience and 6 months of proven teaching experience in LORT or ILT.
