We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at North Mississippi Health Services. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of laboratory testing and specimen processing.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate the workflow of phlebotomists in the Specimen Processing area
- Serve as Charge Medical Technologist in the absence of the supervisor or Lead MT
- Assure accurate and efficient transportation of lab-related supplies, equipment, and specimens
- Follow regulatory guidelines in handling and processing laboratory specimens
- Effectively communicate with NMHS staff, patients, and their family members
- Provide excellent customer service and use AIDET as applicable
- Work as part of a team with Pathology and NMHS employees
- Assure department testing is reported in an accurate and timely manner
- Participate in continuing education programs to maintain and expand skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biological Science, or related field
- ASCP Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist within 12 months after graduation from an accredited Medical Technology Program
- Valid Mississippi Driver's License and acceptable driving record/history (preferred)
- Proficient skills with LIS
- Good organizational and communication skills
