Position Overview:

The CNC Milling Technician is responsible for operating both Horizontal and Vertical computer numerical control machines, as well as manual equipment, to manufacture high-quality components. This position entails loading materials into machines, overseeing operational processes, and ensuring that all produced items meet stringent quality standards. The role also involves managing production batches, collaborating with team members on manufacturing tasks, and maintaining a clean and safe workspace. The CNC Milling Technician is crucial to the production workflow at Faxon Firearms.

Reporting Structure: Manufacturing Supervisor

Key Duties:

  • Perform all designated machining operations efficiently
  • Identify and report any material flaws or inconsistencies
  • Adhere to quality control procedures and complete required inspection documentation
  • Keep the work area organized and free of hazards
  • Conduct thorough inspections of machined components and record results
  • Ensure all measuring tools are calibrated and functioning correctly
  • Carry out routine maintenance on machinery
  • Follow all safety guidelines and protocols
  • Interpret blueprints accurately prior to starting tasks
  • Achieve production targets and meet specified standards
  • Utilize overhead cranes for the handling of materials
  • Complete all tasks as directed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Required Experience:

  • At least 6 months of experience in a comparable position with a strong desire for professional growth
  • Mechanical skills and knowledge of micrometers and calipers
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints

Additional Skills:

  • Willingness to learn and master relevant machinery
  • Positive mindset and focus on quality
  • Familiarity with G Code and M Code is advantageous
  • Specific vision capabilities including close vision and color differentiation

Physical Requirements:

This role necessitates regular communication and physical activities, including standing, walking, and lifting items weighing over 50 pounds. The individual must be capable of effectively manipulating objects and possess good physical stamina.
