Cybersecurity Specialist II

The University of Central Missouri is seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Specialist II to join our team. As a key member of our cybersecurity team, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining proactive security measures to protect our computer networks and information.

• Plan, implement, and maintain proactive security measures to protect computer networks and information.
• Work with internal teams to analyze security risks and recommend solutions.
• Implement information security controls and cybersecurity operations, including maintaining awareness of new and emerging cybersecurity threats.
• Identify threats and vulnerabilities and provide information security awareness training.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as computer science or information assurance.
• Five years of applied experience in planning, installing, documenting, maintaining, supporting, and troubleshooting cybersecurity systems.
• Experience in supporting cybersecurity in an enterprise environment with multiple systems and users.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor, team members, peers, vendors, and constituents of the campus community.
• Demonstrated ability to research, identify, troubleshoot, and remediate cybersecurity threats.
• Familiarity and understanding of MITRE ATT &CK TTPs.
• Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) certification or equivalent experience.
• Practical project management experience.
• Knowledge of programming languages, such as Python, BASH, PHP, JAVA, etc.
• Applied experience with Linux operating systems.
• Ability to interpret and apply broad regulatory requirements and standards to assignments.
