Key Responsibilities
  • Produce high-quality x-ray images of specified body areas as directed by physicians or radiologists, ensuring clear and undistorted films.
  • Instruct and position patients for x-ray procedures, prioritizing their safety and comfort.
  • Perform x-ray procedures using portable machines as requested by the Emergency Department and nursing units.
  • Process films for radiologists reading/interpretation following established procedures, maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Maintain a clean and efficient working environment by preparing and cleaning patient rooms.
  • Protect patients from undue exposure to radiation by utilizing lead shields and other safety measures.
  • Prepare and assist in administering contrast agents, monitoring dosages and potential allergies.
Requirements
  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of an approved radiological training program and registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is also necessary.
  • Current license/certification in the state of practice is mandatory.
  • Possession of a current Basic Life Support Certification is essential.
  • At least one year of experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population served by this facility or department is preferred.
