Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Geologist to join our team at BB&E. As a key member of our environmental remediation team, you will be responsible for overseeing the installation of borings, logging soil and rock core samples, monitoring wells, and collecting and documenting soil, sediment, groundwater, and surface water samples.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform fieldwork, including collecting soil, sediment, and groundwater samples
  • Supervise the installation of soil borings, monitoring wells, and direct push technology (DPT) borings, and direct contractors to perform the work as outlined in project work plans
  • Interpret analytical laboratory and geologic data, and prepare reports documenting the work performed, results, and findings
  • Perform assigned work in accordance with project schedules, plans, and budgets
  • Develop and implement remediation and restoration projects, and review and manage project data for reporting
  • Collaborate with project teams and contractors to prepare scopes, plans, and instructions for project execution
  • Track schedules and costs, and manage records of environmental program documents
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in science or applicable engineering (Geology, Hydrogeology, Hydrology, Geological Engineering) or other related areas
  • Minimum 3 years related experience as an environmental professional
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows Suite (Word, Excel, Projects, PowerPoint, Access) and Adobe
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time to perform fieldwork
Preferred Qualifications
  • Industrial remedial experience
  • Familiarity with RCRA and CERCLA
  • Experience collecting soil and water quality samples in accordance with standard USEPA field methods
  • Experience with installation of wells in a variety of hydrogeologic settings, supporting slug and aquifer tests, and familiarity with basic technologies, including removal actions, air sparging, soil vapor extraction, and chemical injection
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to pass drug testing
  • Ability to walk, sit, and/or stand for extended periods for multiple days/weeks
  • Able to operate office equipment, including computer, copy machine, phone, etc.
  • Capable of light lifting, up to 50 lbs.
