Key Responsibilities

As a Property Claims Specialist, you will utilize your expertise to manage claims related to accidents and weather events affecting residential and commercial properties.

Your role will involve:

  • Conducting thorough on-site evaluations of property damage for both residential and commercial claims
  • Collaborating with policyholders, insurance agents, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and resolve claims effectively
  • Providing exceptional customer service throughout the claims process, addressing inquiries and concerns with professionalism
  • Documenting findings and preparing detailed reports to support the claims handling process
  • Investigating and adjusting property claims with potential exposures up to $500,000
  • Evaluating coverage and policy terms to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Negotiating and settling claims within authorized limits, adhering to industry standards and company guidelines
  • Flexibility to work in the field and occasionally from home, with potential travel to assist in other territories as needed
  • Willingness to adapt to changing hours based on business requirements


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Experience in property claims as a Field Inspection Specialist
  • Strong understanding of property insurance policies and claims processes
  • Knowledge of residential and commercial construction
  • Familiarity with local regulations in New Jersey
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and stakeholders
  • Ability to assess damages and negotiate settlements
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Proficient in claims management software

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, and navigating various structures
  • A valid driver's license is required

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with complex or high-value claims
  • Background in construction
  • Knowledge of water mitigation processes
  • Familiarity with Xactimate software
