Job Responsibilities:

  • Initiate, perform, and complete assigned duties for diverse patient populations.
  • Complete patient care based on conditions, utilizing judgment in procedures and treatments.
  • Observe, identify, and respond to patient needs, including medication, equipment-assisted care, and patient/family education.
  • Prepare and administer prescribed medications and perform treatments according to established policies.
  • Recognize urgent or emergent patient care situations, seeking assistance from RN and/or MD/DO, and initiating appropriate emergency interventions as directed.

Work Schedule:

Shifts between 0600 – 1830, Monday through Friday. Scheduled shifts at the discretion of the squadron commander. Normal work schedules: 9-hour shifts, including a 1-hour non-paid lunch each day. Not to exceed 40 hours per week or 80 hours per two weeks.

Position Requirements:

  • Certificate from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university, or vocational nursing program approved by the state agency.
  • Unrestricted LVN/PN license from a state Board accredited program.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS). Cardiology LVNs require Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Experience: One year of practical or vocational nurse experience after graduation.
