Position Overview:

Houston Baptist University is seeking qualified individuals to join our Spanish program as Adjunct Professors. Candidates should possess expertise in teaching the Spanish language at the undergraduate level. Courses will be offered based on departmental needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and adhere to a course syllabus that aligns with departmental and institutional standards.
  • Provide timely and effective access to students through personal consultations and electronic communication.
  • Assess student performance using established methods to gauge their progress toward course objectives and provide timely feedback.
  • Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the broader community.
  • Submit grades and required documentation promptly.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctorate in Spanish.
  • Fluency in the Spanish language (native or near-native proficiency).
  • Ability to teach Spanish at the undergraduate level, focusing on language acquisition and cultural studies.
  • Capability to instruct from a Christian perspective.
