Radiology Technologist Float Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist Float to join our team at UnitedHealth Group. As a Radiology Technologist Float, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality radiographic services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform radiographic procedures at a technical level, requiring independent judgment and initiative.
  • Position patients and adjust equipment for taking x-rays, following established procedures and protocols.
  • Instruct patients regarding procedures and observe them for vital signs during examination.
  • Follow prescribed safety standards in operating radiologic equipment.
  • Select length and intensity for radiation exposure by adjusting equipment on an individual patient basis.
  • Examine radiologic images for properties such as density and contrast, definition, magnification, and distortion.
  • Prep patients for exams by having them put on a gown or shorts and removing any foreign objects.
  • Perform quality control of images on DR/CR machines and Stentor.
  • Authorize release of patients upon completion of radiologic examination.
  • Assist with procedures, including operating the C-Arm and its various functions under the direction of a physician.
  • Participate in ASC meetings and huddles.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the Radiology room and equipment in accordance with infection control procedures.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Graduate of AMA-approved school of Radiological Technology.
  • Current ARRT certification.
  • Active WA state license or pending application.
