Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit team at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. This is a 26-week contract opportunity with a guaranteed minimum of 36 hours per week.

In this role, you will engage in patient care for medical, surgical, trauma, neuro, ortho, and interventional patients. You will perform ICU-specific procedures such as ICP monitoring, external ventricular drain (EVD) management, and ventilator management. You will also manage critical care drips, drain management, stroke treatment, hemodynamic lines (A-lines/CVP), cardiac rhythm recognition, chest tubes, and provide tracheostomy care.

This position requires a high level of expertise, including experience working with a patient ratio of 1:2 based on acuity, with potential for a third patient during transitions. You will collaborate with support teams including Charge Nurse, Resource Nurse/House Supervisor, Respiratory Therapist, Hospitalist, and Intensivist. You will utilize the Cerner charting system and equipment, including Alaris and Pyxis. Additionally, you may float to other units such as Cardiac Care Unit (ICU), Cardiac Stepdown or Medical Stepdown, and PICU if possessing pediatric experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this position is $98,400 based on a 36-hour workweek and an hourly rate of $27.20.
