Job Description:

HexaQuEST Health, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team in providing high-quality outpatient and inpatient care to patients in Alaska. As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for delivering evidence-based occupational therapy services to patients of all ages and diagnoses within the state's scope of practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide full-time outpatient and inpatient occupational therapy care, including home visits and village travel.
  • Collaborate with medical providers and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Use evidenced-based medicine to inform patient care decisions and modify plans as needed.
  • Exemplify professional conduct, patient care ethics, and respect for cultural diversity in all interactions with patients and colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Occupational Therapy.
  • Licensure in good standing in Alaska as an OT or a good-standing license in another state with the ability to obtain licensure in Alaska.
  • Current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) and current BLS.

Work Environment:

The Occupational Therapist will work in a standard Occupational Therapy Department environment, which includes hi-lo tables, therapeutic exercise equipment, ultrasound, and electric stimulation modalities. In village-based settings, the therapist will typically have access to a treatment table and will bring necessary equipment for patient care.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret occupational therapy periodicals and medical literature.
  • Ability to compose patient care documentation and medical correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with medical staff, peers, and administrative personnel.
