Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of this role is to diagnose and fix various systems on a diesel tractor, such as the engine, transmission, suspension, air conditioning, electrical components, and more. To excel in this position, you'll need an advanced set of hand tools, a rollaway toolbox, 1⁄2 drive impact and sockets, and a digital volt/ohm/amp meter.

  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues on diesel tractors based on work orders or inspection findings.
Key Responsibilities:

Repairs cover a wide range of components including:

  • Overhauls, electrical system maintenance, engine control system repairs, engine overhauls, clutch and transmission replacements, exhaust and brake repairs, as well as various other components essential to the tractor's operation.
  • Record completed repairs on work orders.
  • Drive tractors into the shop and park them after repairs.
  • Provide customer service by addressing technical inquiries from drivers.
  • Maintain a clean work environment including tool organization and trash disposal.
  • Source necessary parts from the parts room for tractor repairs.
  • Assist in training less experienced mechanics and offer technical guidance.
