Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Millwright Specialist to join our team at West Fraser. As a Millwright Specialist, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of industrial equipment, including conveying systems, major machine centers, and other machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain industrial equipment, including conveying systems, major machine centers, and other machinery.
  • Read and understand technical drawings and printed instructions.
  • Work safely under high-pressure situations and be a self-starter.
  • Have a basic understanding of line-ups of pumps, sheaves, sprockets, and machine centers.
  • Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
  • Adjust tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
  • Assemble and install equipment using hand tools and power tools.
  • Lay out mounting holes using measuring instruments and drill holes with a power drill.
  • Replace defective parts of machines or adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts.
  • Level bedplate and establish centerline using a straightedge, levels, and transit.
  • Dismantle machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools.
  • Attach moving parts and subassemblies to basic assembly units using hand tools and power tools.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Own basic tools.
  • Safety-oriented and comply with ZES.
  • Minimum two years verifiable work experience as a Millwright.
  • Welding experience (GMAW and/or SMAW).
  • Cutting Torch experience (Oxygen/Acetylene).
  • Ability to work night/day shift.
  • Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen, physical, reference check, and background check.
