Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Submarine Cable Installation Supervisor to join our team at SubCom. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for supervising activities associated with the installation of submarine cable systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise activities associated with the installation of submarine cable systems, including engineering and implementation of Deep Sea Installations, Vessel Loading, Route Clearance Operations, and Post Lay Inspection and Burial Operations.
  • Assist with engineering and implementation of deep sea installations.
  • Work as a member of a team on activities associated with the installation of submarine cable systems.
  • Assist supervising engineer with vessel loading.
  • Write methods of procedure for installation and loading activities.
  • Interface with customers.
  • Assist with internal and external training support as necessary.
  • Interface with all Marine Services functional engineering groups, Project Management, R&D, Newington Cable Factory, Cable Ships & Depots, and external contractors.
Requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of all facets of Shore End Installations, Deep Sea Installations, Vessel Loading, Route Clearance Operations, and Post Lay Inspection and Burial Operations.
  • Substantial domestic and foreign travels, including extended assignments at Shore End Landing sites or on board cable laying vessels.
  • Basic engineering, math, and computer skills.
  • Charting and mapping skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong communication, technical writing, computer, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • BA/BS Engineering preferred.
