About the Role
The Occupational Therapist, Certified Hand Therapist at Northwestern Medicine plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the organization's mission and vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients, review medical evaluations, and interpret test results to develop effective treatment plans.
- Evaluate patients' physical functioning, identify desired outcomes, and determine therapeutic interventions.
- Instruct and assist patients in performing physical activities, incorporating assistive devices as needed.
- Evaluate treatment effects, observe patient progress, and recommend adjustments.
- Provide patient education and instruction in home care programs.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuation of therapeutic treatment.
- Act as a liaison between interdepartmental staff, management, and external agencies.
Qualifications
- Occupational Therapist, Licensed (IL).
- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapists (NBCOT) certification.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC) certification.
- Three (3)+ years' experience in a relevant role.
- CPR-BLS certification through American Heart Association (AHA).
