Position Summary
The Compliance Assurance Manager is tasked with ensuring that the beverage dispensing products of the company adhere to all relevant federal, state, and international regulations. This pivotal role encompasses the leadership of regulatory strategies, oversight of compliance processes, and the maintenance of current knowledge regarding regulatory developments that may affect the organization. The Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, legal, and operations, to guarantee compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure products comply with all applicable safety standards for their intended use and market placement, including certifications such as UL, CSA, IEC, and local regulations.
- Conduct regular audits and evaluations to uphold product certifications.
- Work alongside product development teams to incorporate safety standards into product designs.
- Prepare and submit necessary documentation for product safety certifications.
- Maintain certifications as products evolve or enhancements are introduced.
- Monitor certification expiration dates and manage renewals to avoid lapses.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards to guarantee product quality and hygienic design, adhering to certifications like NSF and various international food safety regulations.
- Maintain and update food safety documentation and certifications.
- Perform risk assessments and implement control measures to address food safety hazards.
- Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure adherence to food safety standards.
- Promote good manufacturing practices across all production facilities.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including REACH, RoHS, PFAS, and TSCA.
- Assist in conducting environmental impact assessments and develop strategies to minimize hazardous substance usage.
- Track and monitor materials and products for compliance with environmental laws.
- Stay informed on changes in environmental regulations and update compliance programs as necessary.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance environmental compliance.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in compliance management.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to strengthen compliance efforts.
- Design and deliver training programs for employees on compliance standards and procedures.
- Encourage a culture of compliance and continuous improvement within the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance management, preferably in the food and beverage equipment manufacturing sector.
- Extensive knowledge of UL, IEC, NSF, and various food safety regulations.
- Preferred certification in compliance, such as NSF's Food Equipment Credentialing Exam.
- Experience with ISO 9001 and ISO Environmental Management Systems is advantageous.
- Project management experience is preferred.
