Hotel Retlaw, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team in Fond du Lac, WI.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare high-quality food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards.
- Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment, adhering to company and brand standards.
- Provide warm and knowledgeable service to guests, ensuring a positive dining experience.
- Prepare daily requisitions for supplies and food items, ensuring timely delivery.
- Inspect and select only the highest-quality food items for preparation.
- Check and control the proper storage of product, maintaining quality and portion control.
- Keep all refrigeration, equipment, and storage areas clean and in working condition, complying with health department regulations.
- Participate in long-range planning, collaborating with upper kitchen management and other departments.
- Support ongoing hotel programs, contributing to continuous improvement and networking.
- Participate in physical inventories, ensuring accurate stock levels.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt processes and standards.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic computational ability.
- Ability to read recipes and follow instructions.
- Ability to physically demonstrate culinary techniques, such as cutting, cooking principles, plate presentation, safety, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to create and maintain buffet displays, up to 5-6 feet in height.
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures, such as freezers (-10 degrees F) and kitchens (+110 degrees F).
- Ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours.
- Ability to physically handle knives, pots, mirrors, or other display items, as well as grasp, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.
