Position Overview
Responsible for the comprehensive oversight and coordination of the New York Power Authority's (NYPA) operational activities. This role involves monitoring, assessing, and enhancing operational performance; leading the formulation of operational budgets and proposals for capital investments in infrastructure, technology, and other essential resources.
Key Responsibilities
Program Controls is tasked with guiding and integrating project and program governance within NYPA's Operations Business Unit, which encompasses both Capital and Maintenance initiatives. This position supports the organization’s strategy for full life cycle project delivery, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and the efficient execution of all work programs.
Specific duties include:
- Assisting in the review of project progress from initiation through to completion in a structured manner.
- Guiding project teams across various departments in adhering to the newly established project governance framework.
- Contributing to the development of annual and future work portfolios.
- Collaborating with analysts to assess the overall benefits to the organization.
- Monitoring the performance of the current year’s project portfolio.
- Conducting preliminary evaluations of budget submissions and related documentation.
- Preparing and disseminating ad hoc reports concerning project or portfolio data as required.

Education and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree is required, along with a minimum of one year of experience in Project and/or Program Management.
Travel Requirements
This position may require up to 25% travel primarily within New York State.
Compensation
The New York Power Authority is dedicated to offering competitive and equitable compensation, with a target salary range of $66,000 to $91,000, determined based on the candidate's relevant experience and skills.
