Medical Screener

Job Summary

The Medical Screener is responsible for greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting a series of registration procedures to verify donor suitability for the plasma pheresis process. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process, including assessing self-administered health history and performing health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature.
• Conduct finger stick to obtain sample to obtain donor's hematocrit and total protein levels.
• May educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma, including explaining the screening process and health screening tests performed.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in a medical or health provider environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
• Occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and blood borne pathogens.
