Job Description

As a Shift Leader at Carls Jr - 1787, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring that all activities are consistent with and supportive of the company's business plan. You will work closely with the Restaurant Management Team to achieve this goal.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Total Guest Satisfaction: Provide a quality product and service experience that delivers total guest satisfaction. This includes anticipating and exceeding guest needs, handling special situations and requests in a positive manner, and consistently enforcing and maintaining all Carl's Jr. QSC (Quality, Service and Cleanliness) standards.
  • Training and Development: Strive to improve the skills and performance of all crew members. This includes effectively training crew members, providing regular performance feedback, and communicating employee work performance to the General Manager.
  • Supports Business Objectives: Supports efforts to maximize sales and profits and minimize controllable costs by effectively directing and supervising work shift activities. This includes making sound business decisions quickly, planning and organizing daily operational routines and activities, and completing all required administrative duties and daily paperwork.
  • Policies and Standards: Comply with all Carl's Jr. policies and procedures regarding business and personnel practices. This includes modeling all company policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines, and enforcing them in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Carl's Jr. Shared Values: Model and encourage Carl's Jr. shared values, including being focused on and driven by the guest, having high personal integrity, and establishing an environment of trust.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Must have successfully completed the entire Crew Person Training Program requirements and be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Transportation and Insurance: Must have reliable personal transportation, a valid driver's license, and proof of insurance.
  • Accessibility: Must have a telephone or other reliable method of communicating with the restaurant and maintain an open door policy.
  • Hours: Must be able and willing to work flexible hours, including opening and closing shifts.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Basic knowledge of computers.
  • Organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Team building skills.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot cash handling problems and have good mathematics skills.
  • Excellence in performing the duties of all work stations and in completing assigned tasks and duties.
  • Ability to look at the restaurant operations from a customer's viewpoint.
