The Ultrasound Technologist I is responsible for executing complex ultrasound procedures utilizing advanced radiographic equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine and specialized sonographic examinations across various levels of complexity.
- Perform intricate tasks associated with the operation of ultrasound machines, adhering to established radiation safety protocols under the guidance of a Radiologist.
- Ensure the diagnostic integrity of all imaging through a comprehensive understanding of ultrasound methodologies, medical conditions, and potential technical challenges.
- Provide preliminary assessments of ultrasound findings to highlight areas of concern for the attending physician.
- Review patient records to verify requested procedures and gather essential clinical data from various sources.
- Assist physicians during invasive and specialized procedures.
- Welcome patients warmly, guide them to examination rooms, and address their inquiries regarding procedures.
- Adapt communication and procedural explanations to meet individual patient needs.
- Instruct patients and nursing staff on necessary preparations for upcoming procedures.
- Maintain and sanitize ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and reporting any malfunctions.
- Conduct bedside examinations as required.
- Provide training for colleagues, ultrasound students, residents, and visiting personnel.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
- Comply with safety and infection control standards.
- Complete all necessary documentation and perform computer-related tasks, including report entry and procedure logging.
- Adhere to institutional policies and safeguard university resources.

QualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent
Certification: Relevant specialty certification required, RVT Certification mandatory
Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a related field
