- Collaboration: Work closely with design engineers and product developers to refine designs, suggest improvements, and troubleshoot any issues during the prototyping process.
- Material Selection: Select appropriate materials for machining based on design requirements, including metals, plastics, and composites.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on machining equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of machining processes, tool changes, and any modifications made during the prototyping phase.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a machinist, preferably in a prototype or R&D environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating both manual and CNC machines. Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical documents.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Attention to Detail: High level of precision and attention to detail in all aspects of machining and quality control.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a machinist apprenticeship or technical program preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for long periods, and work in a noisy environment.
- Computer Skills: Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and basic computer operation for programming and documentation purposes.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
- Schedule: Tuesday through Friday from 6:00am to 4:30pm
