Role Summary

The MRI Technologist operates MRI machinery under general supervision, ensuring the safe positioning of patients to capture diagnostic images while performing related tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilizes MRI equipment to conduct imaging scans of specified body areas, adjusting settings and patient positions as necessary.
  • Instructs patients on procedures and maintains accurate records of imaging data.
  • Implements sterile techniques to prevent contamination and ensures cleanliness of the imaging environment.
  • Exhibits exemplary customer service skills throughout patient interactions.
  • Performs additional duties as required.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma required; Associate Degree in Radiological Technology preferred.
  • Certification from an accredited Radiology program is mandatory.

Licensure/Certification:

  • BCLS certification is required.
  • Registered Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, with post-primary certification in MRI within six months of hire.

Experience:

Prior MRI experience is preferred, with the ability to demonstrate proficiency in specialized areas beyond routine radiography.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to select appropriate imaging protocols for optimal diagnostic results.
  • Strong judgment and discretion during MRI procedures.
  • Comprehensive understanding of anatomy, imaging techniques, and safety protocols.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
