  • Review patient medical history and physician instructions to ensure test order is present.
  • Explain procedure to patient, answer questions, and maintain patient comfort.
  • Prepare equipment, select patient, and confirm correct patient identification.
  • Operate special equipment to direct sound waves and form images for interpretation.
  • Process ultrasound and PVR/ABI images according to policies and procedures.
  • Prepare preliminary report for physician review and ensure demographic data is correct.
  • Assist with training new staff members and participate in quality assurance/improvement program.
  • Follow infection control protocols and maintain Nuvance Health Values.
  • Perform duties at multiple sites within the VBMC CTC network.
Requirements
  • A two-year Associate's Degree in a specialized or technical field, or one-year vascular ultrasound certification program.
  • Registration through ARDMS as a Registered Diagnostic Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International – Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS).
