The Director of Building Envelopes/FISP at Stealth is tasked with overseeing and directing all facets of the Facade Inspection Safety Program (FISP) for our operations.

This position necessitates a minimum of 5 years of expertise in FISP compliance, along with certification as a Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector (QEWI). The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of facade inspection and maintenance regulations, complemented by strong leadership capabilities to effectively manage a team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT:

  • Provide strategic oversight and guidance to the FISP team, ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Foster a culture centered on safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the department. Supervise and mentor a diverse team of inspectors, engineers, and administrative personnel.

FISP COMPLIANCE:

  • Supervise the implementation of FISP inspections and audits to comply with Local Law 11.
  • Collaborate with QEWIs and external service providers for inspections, evaluations, and report creation.

REGULATORY COMPLIANCE:

  • Remain informed about all relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards pertaining to facade inspections and maintenance.
  • Ensure that projects and assessments comply with local, state, and federal regulations.

BUDGETING AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT:

  • Develop and oversee departmental budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation.
  • Acquire necessary tools, software, and services for the FISP department.

CLIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT:

  • Build and maintain robust client relationships, addressing inquiries and ensuring satisfaction with services provided.

REPORT GENERATION AND DOCUMENTATION:

  • Oversee the preparation and submission of detailed FISP reports, including recommendations for remedial actions.
  • Maintain precise records of inspections, evaluations, and compliance documentation.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT:

  • Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the expertise and skills of the FISP team.
  • Facilitate professional development opportunities for team members.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
  • At least 5 years of experience in facade inspection and safety compliance.
  • Certification as a Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector (QEWI).
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including team management and mentorship.
  • Strong knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and technology for inspection and reporting.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
