Ultrasound Imaging Specialist

Grant Regional Health Center seeks a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to perform complex ultrasound procedures and obtain high-quality diagnostic images. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professional judgment, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, ensuring high-quality images for radiologist review.
- Correlate clinical history, lab data, and imaging studies with exam requirements, consulting with ordering physicians as needed.
- Prepare patients for procedures, providing instructions to minimize anxiety and ensure desired results.
- Select and operate ultrasound equipment, determining ultrasonic frequencies and transducers for optimal results.
- Evaluate images for technical quality, ensuring proper identification and recording.
- Assist licensed practitioners with interventional procedures, needle localizations, aspirations, biopsies, and amniocentesis.
- Communicate with physicians and patient care areas regarding non-scheduled exams, coordinating pre-exam, exam, and post-exam activities.
- Enter post-procedure information and changes into the Radiology Information System (RIS) to ensure accurate billing and radiology history.
- Notify personnel of equipment malfunctions and ensure necessary maintenance and repairs are completed efficiently.
- Maintain professional acumen through active association with professional organizations, attending in-service educational programs, and department meetings.
- Assist in clinical instruction of allied health students, medical students, and physicians, evaluating new equipment and products for potential use.
The successful candidate will possess a program accreditation from the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, ARDMS Registry in Obstetrical/GYN, Abdomen, and Physics, and current BLS & CPR certification. Experience in Vascular and Echo cardiology is preferred.
