Salem Media Group is seeking a skilled Weekend Video Operator to join our team in Irving, Texas. As a key member of our Network Operations Center, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our network, cutting and posting videos for air, and enabling live coverage of breaking news events.

Responsibilities
  • Network Operations: Address alerts from our monitoring systems, ensure feeds are live before shows start, and contact local shows if issues arise.
  • Breaking News Coverage: Schedule and produce live events on the network as needed, fulfilling scheduling requests from the GM or Network Producer.
  • Video Production: Complete and post show schedules and playlists, ensure pre-recorded show files are present in the playout system, and edit segments for air using Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • File Management: Transcode files to fit the network's required format and quality, upload files into the Amagi cloudport playout server, and insert graphics during breaking news.
  • Live Coverage: Take and switch live coverage for press conferences, political rallies, and breaking news, and contact management in the event of issues or if important news breaks.
Requirements
  • Flexibility: Must be willing to learn new systems and adapt to changes.
  • Time Management: Good time management skills are essential.
  • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail is crucial in this role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Excel, familiarity with Amagi cloudport and scheduling systems, and working knowledge of video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Good interpersonal skills are necessary for effective communication with local shows.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise.
  • Deadlines: Capable of meeting deadlines and quick turnarounds.
