Job Summary

Sutter Health is seeking a highly skilled Orthopedic Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our orthopedic department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our physicians and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and assemble orthopedic equipment, ensuring it is safe and consistent with infection control guidelines.
  • Calibrate equipment and understand procedures for all treatment performed.
  • Participate in inventory control, conducting rounds to distribute and collect used supplies.
  • Apply and remove casts and splints under direct supervision of a clinician.
  • Prepare for and assist physicians in various orthopedic procedures.
  • Ensure routine and priority tasks are completed within established departmental time frames.
  • Provide patient education about braces, casts, and splints provided.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
  • ORTHO-Orthopedic Technician certification.
  • Graduate of an orthopedic technician college or equivalent experience.
  • 1 year of recent relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • General knowledge of orthopedic principles, procedures, views, and equipment.
  • Ability to interpret data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills.
