Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our team at Judson. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Provide support with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and other daily needs, ensuring residents maintain their independence and dignity.
  • Implement Fall Prevention Program: Monitor residents at risk for falling, ensure anti-fall devices are in place, and report any incidents to the nurse or supervisor.
  • Report Changes in Resident Condition: Notify the nurse or supervisor of any changes in a resident's condition, appearance, or function.
  • Respond to Call Lights: Respond promptly and courteously to call lights, providing necessary assistance and support.
  • Perform Selected Treatments: Apply TED hoses, care for TED hoses, take vital signs, obtain weights, and perform other treatments as ordered by the nurse or physician.
  • Assist with Nutritional and Hydration Needs: Help residents maintain optimal nutritional and hydration status, documenting intake and reporting poor intake to the nurse.
  • Infection Control and Admission Procedures: Follow isolation protocols, prepare resident rooms, and complete admission procedures, ensuring a smooth transition for new residents.
  • Maintain Resident Rooms and Work Areas: Keep resident rooms and work areas clean and organized, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Perform Laundry and Documentation: Complete laundry tasks, label and store clothing, and document resident care, including admission paperwork, care flow sheets, and other relevant records.
  • Respect Resident Dignity: Knock and announce before entering resident rooms, address residents by their preferred name, and provide meaningful activities to promote engagement and socialization.
  • Confidentiality and Teamwork: Maintain confidentiality regarding resident information and participate in interdisciplinary care planning, working collaboratively with the Resident Care Manager and other team members.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma: Required
  • Nursing Assistant Certification: Must be a graduate of a state-approved nursing aide training program or have current certification as a state-tested nursing assistant
  • Computer Literacy: Required
  • Physical Demands: Ability to kneel, climb ladders, reach, push, manipulate, talk, hear, stand for extended periods, crouch, stoop, walk, lift up to 40 lbs., transfer residents up to 150 lbs. with assistance, if necessary

Working Conditions:

General clinical environment, including resident units, resident rooms, and care areas. May have exposure to resident waste and blood products, and will use PPE and universal precautions accordingly. May be exposed to infections, pathogens, and will follow isolation precautions. Associate may be exposed to combative residents and/or residents with delirium/confusion.
