Custodial Specialist

Job Summary

Custodial Specialist is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of assigned buildings and surrounding areas. This role requires a high level of physical exertion and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Dusts surfaces and cleans floors, carpets, and windows
• Operates commercial floor care equipment and climbs ladders
• Reports repairs and deficiencies to lead person and uses work order system to follow up on open orders
• Makes minor repairs to fixtures and furnishings with simple hand tools
• Removes rubbish and cleans containers
• Performs other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous custodial experience preferred
• Ability to lift and transport a minimum of 50lbs without assistance
• Ability to work independently and achieve high results with minimal supervision
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain collegial relationships

• Exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment
• Physical demands of the job require the ability to remain standing for extended periods, go up and down flights of steps, and lift and push heavy objects
