Infection Prevention LPN

Job Summary:
The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team as an Infection Prevention Specialist. This role will be responsible for working collaboratively with infection and prevention and control staff to accomplish the goals and objectives of the Infection Prevention program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Surveillance of healthcare-associated infections and reportable illnesses
- Evaluation and reporting of statistical information
- Consultation on asepsis, disinfection, sterilization, isolation, disease transmission, and related issues
- Evaluation and improvement of patient/resident outcomes
- Assistance with research needs and special projects
- Understanding and use of computer programs and applications for data collection and analysis
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or related clinical field, or graduate from an approved Master's of Public Health program
- Two years of experience in a healthcare field
- Board of Certification in Infection Control (CIC) by the Certification Board of Infection Control, Inc. (if working in an acute setting)
- Completion of an approved Infection Prevention course by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) (if working in a post-acute setting)
- Currently hold an unencumbered LPN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring
