Job Title: Radiologic Technologist

At The Portland Clinic, we are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Job Summary:

The Radiologic Technologist will be responsible for performing radiological studies on patients, as ordered by physicians, using proper techniques to ensure the quality of the images. This includes positioning patients, setting up equipment, and ensuring radiation protection and dose efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic x-ray procedures, including general radiography and mobile c-arm exams.
  • Position patients to obtain optimal images while ensuring radiation protection and dose efficiency.
  • Set up all equipment and supplies for procedures and exams.
  • Assist patients with dressing/undressing, escorting them to and from exam rooms, and assisting with exam tables.
  • Explain and coach patients through exams or procedures.
  • Ensure all documentation in EHR and images in PACS are correct.
  • Ensure exams are ready for Radiologist interpretation in a timely manner.
  • Interact with radiologists and/or exercise sound technical judgment for approval of image quality or possible additional imaging.
  • Answer telephone inquiries regarding patient exams, procedures, and preparations for exams.
  • Complete necessary departmental quality assurance measures in EHR and PACS for each examination.
  • Assist with reception/radiology clerical duties as needed.
  • Clean and stock exam rooms and dressing booths on a daily basis.
  • Participate as an active team member in a patient-centered medical home.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiological Technology program, consisting of a 2-4 year educational program, including an Associate of Applied Science degree.
  • Must be ARRT certified in Radiography and possess a valid Oregon license. Status must be maintained via CME throughout employment period.
  • CPR certification.

  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations and to work under pressure.
  • Ability to accept responsibility and use initiative to proceed with necessary tasks without direct supervision.
