About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Engineer to join our team at MacKay & Somps Civil Engineers, Inc. as a Hydrology Civil Engineer. The successful candidate will have a strong background in storm drain system design, surface hydrology, and closed-conduit/open-channel hydraulics for land development and public infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop storm drain systems for land development and public infrastructure projects
  • Conduct surface hydrology and hydraulic modeling for various projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables meet client expectations
  • Develop and maintain technical expertise in civil engineering software and tools
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited university
  • Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in California
  • 5-10 years of experience in storm drain system design, surface hydrology, and closed-conduit/open-channel hydraulics
  • Strong technical skills in civil engineering software and tools, including AutoCAD Civil3D, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
