Position Overview
The Lease Accounting Analyst plays a crucial role in managing and analyzing occupancy expenses for the organization. This position involves budgeting, forecasting, and reporting on costs associated with leased properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct monthly analysis and reporting of occupancy expenses
    • Develop and maintain leasing schedules in accordance with GAAP, including lease liabilities and right-of-use assets
    • Prepare month-end and quarter-end accruals through comprehensive account analysis
    • Execute monthly balance sheet reconciliations
    • Provide monthly budget versus actual reporting, including variance analysis for management review
    • Assist in the monthly forecasting process to ensure management has the latest financial projections
    • Generate recurring monthly reports and perform ad hoc analyses as needed
  • Facilitate the annual occupancy budget process
    • Work closely with the budgeting team and other stakeholders to establish and validate budget assumptions
    • Create and maintain budget templates, adapting them based on trends and organizational needs
  • Prepare quarterly and annual audit documentation, serving as the primary liaison with internal and external auditors for relevant areas
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations within the scope of responsibilities
  • Identify and recommend improvements to existing processes
  • Support the daily functions of the Lease Accounting department
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related discipline
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical capabilities
  • Proficient in Excel with advanced skills
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the commercial real estate sector or a related field
