Key Responsibilities:
  • Code Development: Write high-quality source code in C++ while adhering to best practices in software engineering, including conducting code reviews, following design guidelines, and performing unit and regression testing.
  • Product Testing: Engage in the testing and integration of products in an offline environment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders and development partners to ensure alignment and progress.
  • Agile Methodology: Participate in an Agile/Scrum framework to deliver software that provides measurable value to customers.
  • Research Contributions: Potentially contribute to the writing of patents and scientific papers, and actively engage with the scientific community.
  • Presentations: Present and demonstrate research topics to internal groups within Daimler.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • Proficient coding skills in C++ (preferably starting from C++11).
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles (including git, Linux, build systems, design patterns, automated testing, and debugging).
  • Experience with C++ in real-time systems, focusing on memory management and deterministic algorithm design.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or shell scripting.
  • Solid foundation in mathematics.
  • Experience with agile software development practices.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate thoughts and ideas clearly in both verbal and written formats.
  • Adaptability to work in a dynamic environment with evolving conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Rust or similar languages is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of graph theory.
  • Familiarity with static scheduling techniques.
  • Experience in real-time programming for embedded systems and their operating systems.
  • A curious, self-driven individual who is enthusiastic about tackling complex challenges at Mercedes-Benz.
