Job Title: Mammography Technologist

Job Summary:

Intermountain Health is seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team. As a Mammography Technologist, you will be responsible for performing radiographic mammography procedures to produce high-quality diagnostic images for the detection of breast tissue abnormalities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.
• Performs radiologic mammography exams per department protocol, including advanced procedures like stereotactic biopsies, clip placements, and drainages.
• Demonstrates positioning competency and operates the mammographic equipment to ensure diagnostic images of high quality are produced.
• Appropriately uses equipment, maneuvers the unit, and selects techniques to produce diagnostic images.
• Appropriately uses radiation protection to ensure the safety of patients and staff and meets all ALARA program requirements.
• Keeps current on new procedures and equipment to maintain skills at a high level.
• Maintains records required by JCAHO and the Utah State Bureau of Radiation Control.
• Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation, including time stamps and image storage.

Requirements:

• ARRT registration.
• Current Rad Tech license in the state of practice.
• Must meet and maintain mammography specific ACR & FDA/MQSA requirements.
• Must meet and maintain the ARRT Advanced Mammography Certification.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Imaging or Mammography.

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting, Manual Dexterity, Pulling/Pushing, Seeing, Speaking, Standing, Walking.
