Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at NY CREATES. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) and Waste Water Treatment (WWT) systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance inspections and perform required duties to ensure the UPW and WWT systems meet the required standards of purity, quality, and facility performance.
  • Participate in the development of equipment start-up, shut-down, and preventative maintenance tasks and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional customer satisfaction and support, working independently to resolve issues and complete tasks.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office and Maintenance Management programs to maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
  • Work effectively in a team environment, possessing good mechanical aptitude and the ability to work safely.
  • Ability to work overtime hours as needed and maintain detailed, accurate records.
  • Other reasonable duties assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in a skilled level of mechanical maintenance or equivalent educational and professional experience and training in a highly technical/engineering environment.
  • Operational experience with technical training and a general understanding of various disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Experience in working with maintenance schedules, blueprints, diagrams, sketches, codes, and maintaining detailed and accurate records.
  • Ability to lift and push/pull 50 lbs. on a regular basis and frequent climbing (i.e. ascending/descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, etc.).
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions and exposure to hazards (i.e. proximity to moving mechanical parts, heat, cold, and noise exposure).
  • Ability to work extended hours and during planned shutdown periods.
  • Employee must have the ability to wear a respirator as assigned and requires participation in NY CREATES hearing conservation program.
  • Possess good mechanical aptitude and be able to work safely.
  • Must be able to maintain detailed, accurate records, and prepare necessary reports with skilled use of Microsoft Office Suite software and Maintenance Management programs.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Associate degree in engineering and 5+ years of experience in UPW and WWT operations, or 10 years UPW and WWT operational experience with technical training.
  • General understanding of all related disciplines such as device performance, electrical, chemical, and waste handling (drum and bulk), scrubbers, reporting, and control systems, PLC programming & operation, and bulk gas system operation.
