Job Summary

CableCom is seeking a skilled Field Walkout Specialist to join our organization. As a Field Walkout Specialist, you will play a critical role in the construction and maintenance of our plant infrastructure, design, and engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage field engineering activities responsible for planning, designing, and obtaining permits for new cable routes
  • Visit customer sites to gather OSP site survey information, evaluate customer requirements, and determine the OSP equipment required
  • Work as part of a multi-faceted team consisting of engineering, construction, project management, and scheduling personnel
  • Coordinate with drafting and/or GIS personnel to produce construction drawings
  • Develop base mapping and provide field engineering services required to prepare permit drawings, OSP construction drawings, and final as-built drawings
  • Research and incorporate permitting requirements from jurisdictional authorities into the OSP design
  • Recommend final route based on most economical solution and permitting agency's requirements
  • Research and evaluate various route options associated with projects
  • Maintain safe working habits and conditions according to regulations and policies
Requirements:
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have 2-4 years of experience in the OSP Engineering field
  • Have experience with aerial and underground construction methods and engineering requirements
  • Have effective communication skills
  • Be able to travel and work extended hours
  • Have reliable transportation and a clean driving record
