We are seeking a skilled Histology Technician to join our team at HealthCare Connections, Inc. as a Grossing Specialist. The ideal candidate will have experience in receiving, processing, and preparing patient tissue specimens for microscopic examination and analysis by the pathologist.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine specimen preparation, including cutting various tissue types and mounting them on glass slides for examination under the microscope by the pathologist.
- Calibrate, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Distribute stained slides to the correct pathologist or hospital.
- Perform microtomy and IHC staining of all same-day requests.
- Run all same-day STAT cases for all hospitals.
- Ensure adequate stock of controls.
- Nationally certified histotechnician with experience in immunohistochemistry.
- Ability to perform complex histologic procedures and analyze and correct problems using scientific principles.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Masters or Bachelors degree in a related field.
- Must be CLIA Compliant to gross complex specimens.
- One (1) year of experience in a similar role.
