Job Title: Space Flight Hardware Electrical Engineer

Proteus Space is a Los Angeles-based satellite technology start-up, founded in 2021. Our mission is to deliver agility and adaptability to space systems through our rapid automated satellite design system, MERCURY.

Job Description:

This is a full-time role for a Space Flight Hardware Electrical Engineer. In this position, you will be designing, developing, and testing avionics systems for our satellites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop advanced avionics systems for satellites.
  • Perform detailed analysis and testing of avionics components.
  • Collaborate with research engineers to drive innovation and contribute to the company's intellectual property (IP) portfolio.
  • Integrate avionics systems with other satellite subsystems in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to avionics hardware and software.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Document design processes, test results, and system performance.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors, Masters, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in spacecraft systems avionics engineering.
  • Proficiency in hardware and software development for satellite avionics systems.
  • Experience in handling, assembling, and testing space flight hardware.
  • Experience developing and reviewing electrical block diagrams.
  • Experience in satellite harness design and specification.
  • Experience designing and assembling PCBA's.
  • Experience working with ESD protocols.
  • Experience working in clean room environments.
  • Familiarity with Digital Electronics (FPGA) / Embedded Systems.
  • Familiarity with Hardware-in-the-loop testbeds and software simulations.
  • Familiarity with Spacecraft Operations.
  • Familiarity with RF systems.
  • Familiarity with satellite ground systems and launch operations.
