About the RoleThe School Leader (principal) plays a crucial role in setting a powerful vision for student achievement and motivating others to follow that vision.
This leadership position is responsible for strategically implementing the school's mission through effective leadership and management of the school's students and staff, resulting in an instructional environment that prepares every student for success in college and in life.
Key Responsibilities- Student Performance: Set and enforce rigorous standards for student achievement that align with the goals of the school and region.
- Organizational Leadership: Lead teachers in developing a healthy school culture aligned with the mission, vision, and values of the school and the region.
- Instructional Leadership: Manage, evaluate, and develop all staff members at the school.
- Operational Leadership: Develop a school-wide budget and oversee routine facilities maintenance.
- Personnel: Recruit, select, and hire school staff, including teachers and school-based support staff.
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree strongly preferred.
- Teaching certification, Administrative credential or current enrollment in an administrative credentialing program.
- Demonstrated success as a teacher (at least 5 years) in an urban school.
- At least 1 year as a School Leader or at least two years as an Assistant School Leader.
- An uncompromising belief that all students can learn.
- A relentless work ethic and a high degree of patience to push through difficult challenges.
$80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
